Vendor Talk: Stella's View Photography

Hi Lovelies,

Happy Tuesday!

We have fun twist with our Vendor talk today. I (Kat) got to interview Cate and the Stella’s View Photography Team! We got to sit down and chat about what they do, photography methods they use, and so much more. Read below to hear about all of the fun they have!

Q: How long have you been in business, and how did you get started, with Stella’s View Photography?

A: Over 6 years already, it’s crazy how fast time goes by. I attended a very small high school (60 kids, 18 in my graduating class) so everyone had a “place” and was encouraged to grow into that position. Mine just so happened to be photography. I absolutely fell in love with it, and decided to just try it out and see if it was something I wanted to pursue (obviously it was - haha).

Q: Why is you business called Stella’s View Photography?

A: I was one of those corny kids who named all of my electronics, and my first camera was named “Stella”. You would be AMAZED at how many people call me Stella on a regular basis - haha! FYI my name is Cate, hello!

Q: What is your favourite thing to photograph?

A: I feel like the answer to this question changes weekly. I have fallen in love with couple/engagement sessions. I am also obsessed with in home “story telling” sessions. We quite literally hangout at your house, dance around in your kitchen, eat ice cream, and snuggle in your bed. They are literally the best sessions. Book one please I’m begging you!

Q: Tell us about how you photograph!

A: We consider ourselves “Unposed” photographers. The unposed method has been an absolute game changer for my business. It is all about capturing real, raw moments. Mostly people laugh, and we get true, genuine, smiles; But my favourite is when people cry, always happy tears! This recently happened at one of my sessions when I asked a couple to tell me about the day they knew they were in love. It was such a special moment. I also am a natural light photographer, there is nothing better!

Q: Why is it important for people to hire a photographer for special events?

A: Most people just assume we only photograph weddings, this is totally not true! Baby showers, surprise engagements (FAV), family reunions, galas, first birthdays, and the list could go on forever. Most of these events are once in a lifetime, and often times people forget to take photos. It’s so important to capture those memories! When we photograph yearly reunions, the family changes every single year. Sometimes it’s because they’ve added a baby or a new spouse, but often times it is the opposite, where they have lost a few family members. So so so important, just do it!

Cate and the SVP team are always a joy to be around, making every session a fun experience. Check out their NEW website for more information. Did you also know that if you book Sage River Events AND Stella’s View Photography you get a discount on BOTH ends?! Crazy!
